 From Beijing to Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan (south of river), it took about 5 hours by CRH (China Railway High-speed) train. But thanks to the loudest-ever-snoring-uncle that sat next to me, it feels like a day+_+

That afternoon, we went to Lou yang, another beautiful city in Henan which is famous for its Longmen Grotto. Unfortunately, there’s no time to visit any public attractions at all. Hence the not-so-interesting pictures..

Travelling to Louyang from Zhengzhou was by CRH, the fastest train in the world (by average speed of 350km/hr). It was aweesommmee..it feels like in a plane because u’ll get the “airplane ear” symptoms occasionally

 and hence, the memorial photo with the CRH^^

the next morning, we took a flight to Hunan (south of lake)  Province.

We visited the Nanfang High School Education group, Zhuzhou and it was suprisingly hugeeeeee!!!

Before the seminar, I  joined the English class in that school and did some interaction with the students. Then, one of them asked me “Lao shi, I want to ask you the most important thing, I worry about this very much…is it allowed to have a girlfriend in Malaysian University?” oh dear, why on earth worry about this thing when u have a bigger matter to take care of!

 The flight back to Beijing was scheduled at Sunday 10pm but due to the bad weather, it was delayed for 2 hours (and we were actually waiting in the cabin! ) Regardless, thanks to that, i arrived home at dawn just on time to watch the precious goal by Iniesta of Espana! and of course, Casillas made my day for his great performance! congratulations for the Golden Glove my man^^

The next day, I went for some shopping for little Una here; it’s an underground shopping mall which is soooo cool because of the interior design and of course, the super cheap clothes ^^

The journey kicked off with waiting for 2 hours at Xizhemen Railway Station..niceee huh

and then, the climbing begins..oh no, actually we were running+climbing because the heat was unbearable..the faster , the better = more fats burnt! hooo yeay now i dont need to work out for a week hahahahahahah

the climbing was almost 1 hour and the scorching heat just made it harder for us +_+

so, we decided to go down using the sliding cars. it was fun fun fun!!

After the uh-hm tiring walk at the park with shu shu, he took me to Niu Jie (Ox Street- Muslim community in Beijing) to have a muslim lunch and tour around the Niu Jie Mosque.

Along the Niu Jie St., it was very saddening to see some Muslims asking for food and money from the passerby. I tried to give some but shu shu prohibits me as he said that they are con-men.

There’s something about the place that touched my heart. I just become teary when i stepped my foot at the sacred area. The a yi (aunty) welcomed me with Salam and the cute teenage girl wearing indonesian hijab smiled at me. It was so peaceful and calm. After i finished my prayer, i’ve offered a handshake with a yi but she hugged me thrice, a very warm one in fact.

Even though there’s about 200 million muslims in China, only the old people practise it obediently, not the youngsters which is disappointing. They all banned pork but still drinking beer occasionally. Prayers are only meant for the oldies except the Friday prayers. Most of them know nothing about aurat,the do’s and dont’s. (I was speaking based on my observations as one of my student is like that and he told me that most of them are like that)

The travel took 16 hours by train. Very long and tiring indeed.

Right after the long journey, we grabbed some light breakfast and headed straight to the Education Fair.

“Difficult times happen on the way to happiness”

So, this is travelogue no.1 = my 1st saturday in Beijing

This is shu shu (=uncle), my boss’s father. He’s practically my tour guide even though i cant understand him most of the time due to the language barrier.  As for a 70 years old man, he got enormous energy. We walked for 7 hours during the visit; climbing hills and high stairs but he never emits a single sigh! ..while i was practically dragging my feet and the 4kg camera bag.

the palace is huge, oh no, it’s giant! the river, the garden, the palace itself and the temple (as below), oh dear, the 7 hours walk was maybe 50% of the whole thing +_+

As for now, this is the first and last entry for Beijing, China…the internet and the computer in the office are slow, the language barrier, fb, blogspot and youtube are banned, and i dont have my own lappy-hence no photoshop-no artsy fartsy pictures..how sad!

However, life is still interesting, thank God! I’ll update later when i am back in Msia insyaallah..ciao~
